Does exporting mean expansion?

At the end of last week, I participated in a UKTI Passport to Export programme. It was a good opportunity to develop my action plan for entering external markets and to reflect on what I have achieved so far in my exporting process. The international market is relatively new for me and I have already made two visits to the UAE in the past 8 months and a number of companies have shown interest. I will be directly following up with the British Embassy as much as possible.

Australia is another potential target market. I have already met the Australian Embassy personnel at the Explore Export event in Newmarket last year and there appears to be potential interest for my skill set which is great news.

I am acutely aware that for any smaller company, time and time management is extremely important. I know my biggest challenge will be balancing delivery and undertaking research or doing follow ups.

It may be time for an apprentice…….
